Scholarships

The Kirtland Spouses’ Club Scholarship Program

The Kirtland Spouses’ Club, with support from the Kirtland Thrift Shop, donates thousands of dollars each for college scholarships. The KSC Scholarship Program is awarded to military dependents, spouses of an active duty, and dependents of retired military on remote assignment. Applicants don’t need to be members of the KSC to apply.

The Scholarship Program has helped military dependents such as high school seniors begin their pursuit of a college education. It has also helped college students continue their education goals, and assist military spouses to expand their education. The scholarship program is very important because money that is raised from the Thrift Shop is given back directly to our military community who wish to pursue an education which is very vital in today’s society.

Application for the 2016-2017 year is now closed. Congratulations to our recipients.

Grant Funding

The Kirtland Spouses’ Club grant requests

KSC is committed to providing grant funds during the 2016-2017 board year. Grant funding is provided to support projects on Kirtland AFB, in the local area, and nationally. In the past, the KSC has provided grants to purchase new mats and toys for base play groups, the Air Force Aid Society, and Locker 505 student clothing bank, just to name a few. Thus far this year, the KSC has awarded grants to cover shipping costs of care packages sent to deployed service members by the Blue Star Mothers Rio Grande Chapter, to support Movies Under the Stars base events, and provided needed funding for the Air Force Villages Charitable Foundation, which houses and provides health care to the widows of those who served. KSC cannot provide grant funds for food purchases, but other requests are welcome and encouraged!

KSC welcomes any organization that wishes to apply for grants requests, please submit the request 30 days in advance of when the funds are needed. This 30-day window will allow the KSC the time needed to process a grant request. Submissions for grant requests must provide all the required information to be considered.  Any grant request made less than 30 days prior to the date the funds are needed will be denied.
